Red Dog - Online Gambling Rules
In spite of the complicated table layout Red Dog is quite simple game. The dealer deals three cards and the player bets that the third card will be higher, than one of the others, but lower than another. (If you are familiar with the rules, you can skip the next chapter and read the instructions to the virtual play mode only).
Rules
6 standard 52-cards decks are used. The cards value is generally accepted: the lowest is the two; the highest is the ace; the suit does not matter.
The game starts as usual: the player makes a wager, and then the dealer opens two cards from the deck.
- In case they are equal the third card is dealt.
- If the value of the third card is the same as the previous two cards ("3 of a kind" poker hand), the player gets the bet back and the winning paid 11 to 1 (bet a dollar, get 12 back).
- If the first two cards are equal but the third is not, the bet returns to the player.
- If the values of the first two cards are consecutive (2 and 3, Queen and Jack, etc.), the third card is not dealt, the bet returns to the player.
- If the first two cards are neither equal in their values nor successive, the dealer announces "spread" - the number of card values between the two cards. For example, the spread between 2 and 4 is 1 (just three is higher than two and lower than four); the spread between the Jack and Ace there is 2 (Queen and King), etc.
When the spread is established the player can double the bet or proceed the game with the initial bet. Then the dealer opens the third card.
If it gets into the spread between the first cards, the player can have his total bet back, moreover, the winnings according the following payouts:
- One card spread pays 5 to 1;
- Two cards spread pays 4 to 1;
- Three cards spread pays 2 to 1;
- Four and more cards spread - 1 to 1 (bet a dollar, raise the bet to two, and get back four).
